Welcome to Burleigh Manor Music Parents.

Our goal is to help link the school community with the wonderful music education opportunities that are offered at Burleigh Manor Middle School.

Burleigh Manor Music Parents was founded in 1999 to support the active and successful music program at BMMS. All parents of band, orchestra, and choral students are automatically members. In addition to fund raising to supplement limited county funds, the group provides assistance at concerts, field trips, and adjudications. We provide chaperones, set-up for concerts, and help with program preparation. The Music Parents also help with awards and awards parties, and arrange for publicity in the local papers. We hold a Music Orientation Night each September to introduce incoming 6th grade parents to our group, to give an overview of the music programs at school, and to discuss our plans for the upcoming year. Each spring, the Music Parents produce a compilation CD of the music performed throughout the school year. Since the 2003-2004 school year, this wonderful keepsake has been a double CD set. Music support groups such as ours are common at the High School level, but ours is one of few at a Middle School.

About 70% of the students at BMMS participate in band, orchestra, or chorus, which is a remarkable accomplishment for the four teachers involved. Our assistance can contribute immensely to the success of these programs, and we ask that you consider helping out when and where you can. Please contact BMMP with questions or concerns, or to volunteer to help.
