BMMS Music Program’s Winter Concerts this Month (posted 12/2/11)

Take a break from your holiday preparations by enjoying an evening or two of beautiful music. The Burleigh Manor Music Program’s winter concerts are scheduled for this month. There will be 2 concerts, both beginning at 7 PM in Centennial High School’s auditorium. The dates and ensembles for each concert are as follows: 

		Monday, December 12th
			Wind Ensemble
			Concert Band I
			Sixth Grade Chorus
			Chamber Choir
			
		Wednesday, December 14th
			Concert Band II
			Choir
			String Ensemble
			Orchestra

BMMS Jazz Bands’ Winter Concert to be Held Next Month (posted 12/2/11)

Begin the New Year with an evening of memorable music. The after-school jazz bands will hold their winter concert on Thursday, January 5th in the Burleigh Manor Middle School cafeteria. The concert will begin at 7 PM.

Music Celebration Trip (posted 11/10/11)

Student permission slips for the end-of-year music celebration trip for band, chorus, and strings were sent home on Wednesday, November 9. To insure a spot, the forms were recommended to be returned the following day along with a $95 deposit for each person attending, including chaperones. The end-of-year trip will be to New York City to see a performance of “The Lion King” at the Minskoff Theatre. The group will depart on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at 7:00 AM and will return at 10:30 PM.

Music Parents Concert Clothing Exchange (posted 10/18/11)

The Music Programs’ winter concerts are fast approaching. If you find that your musician has outgrown his or her concert attire, checkout the Burleigh Manor Music Parents Concert Clothing Exchange at www.burleighmanormusic.org/classifieds.html. You will find the list of gently used concert clothing articles currently available. If you would like to add your items to the list, please send an email to ClothingExchange@burleighmanormusic.org with a description of the clothing (including size, color, and school), the cost, and your contact information. Your personal contact information will not be posted.

2010-2011 Burleigh Manor Music CD (posted 8/27/11)

Copies of the 2010-2011 Burleigh Manor Music CD are still available for purchase. The 2 CD set cost $20 and include pieces from all of the school’s musical ensembles. If you would like to purchase a CD, please send an email to president@burleighmanormysic.org indicating your interest. Quantities are limited.

ECHO Project Instrument Drive (posted 8/25/11)

If you have a musical instrument in good condition that your child no longer plays, please consider donating it to the ECHO project. The ECHO, or Every Child Has Opportunities, project is a Howard County Parents for School Music initiative that helps to put instruments into the hands of Howard County students who could not otherwise afford an instrument of their own. Last year, an instrument drive was held during the Howard County Solo and Ensemble Festival at Mt. Hebron High School in February. Check back to learn when and where this year’s instrument drive will be.

Burleigh Manor Music Parents Thank You (posted 8/27/11)

Many thanks to all of the parents and families of our BMMS music students who gave of their time and talents to help with the numerous concerts, adjudications, field trips, and celebrations held throughout the year. The children enjoyed a wonderfully active and enriching year as a result.
